2025 Primary Summer

Primary preschool summer program

Summer Primary (3-5 year olds*)

*Children who have finished Kindergarten should enroll in the summer Elementary program.

Summer in Primary at The Children’s House is the perfect blend of our Montessori philosophy and hands-on, fresh-air, outdoor summer fun. Campers enjoy a variety of engaging activities within the familiar Montessori environment with an emphasis on exploring the natural environments of our Long Lake Campus outdoor amenities. Some weeks will include special guests including storytellers and musicians!  

There are two 5-week sessions for the Primary Summer Program.

Session 1: June 16-July 18 (5 weeks)
Session 2: July 21-August 21 (5 weeks)

The Summer Primary program requires a one-session (5-week) minimum sign-up and is first offered to Children’s House students who are enrolled for Fall 2025. Current students who are not enrolled for Fall 2025 may check on availability in early April by contacting Andrew Lutes at andrew@traversechildrenshouse.org.

  • Early care is available from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM and should be selected at the time of your registration. There is no aftercare this summer, the school is open from 8 AM to 4 PM. Morning carline will run from 8:20-8:40 AM and afternoon carline will run from 3:35 to 3:55 PM. 
  • Al-a-carte early care may be available by contacting Andrew Lutes or Marty Miklos. 
  • This program is a 10-week program. We will be off on Friday, July 4th. The Summer program ends after Thursday, August 21st. 

We understand that summer may bring changes to your family schedule. If your family would like to participate in the Primary Summer Program with a schedule not shown above, please indicate on the registration form. For questions email andrew@traversechildrenshouse.org. We may be able to accommodate a limited number of custom schedules.

Pizza Wednesdays - pizza will be available for purchase for Primary and Base Campers.  To order, please use Boonli and be sure to change your student’s profile to their summer classroom. Email Marty if you have questions (martin@traversechildrenshouse.org).

Billing Information

  • DEPOSIT: A $100 deposit is due for each camper at the time of registration. Payment of this deposit does not guarantee your spot.  
  • CONFIRMATION: Once your registration has been received, we will send you a confirmation for your schedule, a supply list, and health and emergency forms that need to be completed and returned to the Admissions Office.
  • PAYMENT OPTIONS: Registrants can choose between two payment options indicated on the registration form. Full Pay: Total Summer Tuition due May 9, 2025 Two Installments: Half Pay Due May 9; Half Pay Due June 10, 2025.
  • CANCELATIONS AND SCHEDULE CHANGES:  All summer tuition will be refunded if enrollment is canceled or modified in writing by May 23, 2025. Neither the deposit nor the tuition will be refunded for cancelations after May 23. Schedule changes will be accommodated based on class availability.
  • LATE PAYMENT CHARGE: A late charge of $15 per month is assessed when the balance due is $25 or more and payment has not been received by the 11th of the month it is due.
  • RETURNED CHECK CHARGE:  A charge of $20 is assessed for all checks or EFTs returned because of insufficient funds or invalid account numbers.
  • LATE PICK-UP CHARGE: A fee of $50 is charged if your child is picked up after our 4 PM close time.
  • A LA CARTE CHILDCARE:  Early care is available from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM and should be selected at the time of your registration.  Al-a-carte early care may be available by contacting Andrew Lutes or Marty Miklos.
  • SUMMER SESSION CALENDAR: Our summer program will be open for 10 weeks from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, June 16 - Thursday, August 21 with a closure on Friday, July 4.
