The Children’s House offers programs for children between birth and 14 years of age. To the extent possible, classes are balanced with respect to age, gender, and previous Montessori experience.
Enrollment and application pool:
An applicant pool is necessary for screening applicants and filling vacancies. The pool illustrates the school’s priorities as it allows for enrollment of balanced classes. Enrollment preference is given to returning students, children of faculty and staff, students graduating from the previous level, siblings of current students, siblings of former students, and students transferring from another Montessori school.
The Admissions Director may fill a space in a classroom out of order of priority if it is in the best interest of a classroom or the school. The best interests may include balancing a class for age, gender and Montessori experience.
The Children’s House does not discriminate in admissions or placement based on gender, race, religion, national or ethnic origin. Acceptance is based on a family’s commitment to Montessori education for their child, space available, and the child’s likely long-term attendance at The Children’s House.
- Application Complete the application and submit with a non-refundable $50 fee.
- Student Visit Students 5-12 years old are invited to visit the classroom for two days. A parent conference with the Head of School and classroom teacher follows the visit and precedes acceptance and class placement.
- Notification of Placement The Admissions Director will notify you of acceptance in the program. A tuition agreement is offered from the school, signed by the parents or responsible party and returned to the admissions office within two weeks. A non-refundable $500 enrollment deposit is required with the signed tuition agreement and is applied toward the total tuition.
- Applicant Pool If your child is placed in the applicant pool, you will be called when a space becomes available.
